Home Membership Building New Club Leadership Plan
New Club Leadership Plan

From Leads to Newly Chartered Clubs, the process goes as follows:

  • An e-mail will provide all the details of the new lead to Division Governor and Area Governor. The lead gets the e-mail sharing Division Governor and Area Governor Information.
  • Division Governors will work with Area Governors to build a demonstration team that will be a like type of nearby Club that will help to orient the new Club
  • Ask Lead to call nearby like Club to attend their meeting.
  • Gather members from those Clubs that will be a part of the Demonstration Team and train them on the roles and assign the Toastmaster responsible for communicating with the new Club and Area Governor, Division Governor, and LGM.  Area Governors, please make sure to follow-up with the Toastmaster and keep District Governor and LGM informed.
  • Ask member of the Club looking for additional Leadership skills if they would be the Club Mentor.  There may be up to two Club mentors. Club Mentors provide guidance to New Club for a period of 6 months to one year of its existence.  They may become members.

Please make an appointment with LGM Karen Seeman, DTM 201-541-1799, Area Governor and the Division Governor to go over the demonstration meeting plan that will now work to properly complete the Charter Application papers at the end of the 35 minute meeting as well as provide the Toastmaster with the added benefit of acting as Sponsor to a Newly Chartered Club.  The role of sponsor is a critical leadership role in obtaining the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award.  It will also produce a Founder’s Ribbon for that member’s Club Banner. See the attached as a template for the demonstration meeting:

This is our opportunity to come together as an effective, collaborative team and to grow as individuals as much as possible.  Bring your best to the table and you will be rewarded handsomely.  Toastmasters’ goal is to make effective oral communications a world-wide reality. District 83 Governor Brian Lin believes, “Better You, Better World.”

Enjoy the Toastmasters experience,
Karen Seeman, DTM
